Translation teams continuously handle various types of jobs one after another, and each job presents new challenges related to quality management. We structure and improve our translation teams using the following methods, and provide necessary training to teams and conduct quality audits.
Assigning Full-Time Resource Managers
@global has a total of four full-time resource managers for our English and Asian-language teams. These resource managers handle the whole hiring process from recruitment of new translators through to the sending/evaluating of trials and making of contracts. They also provide detailed information of translators who have passed the trial and concluded contracts to project managers for each translation team so that it is possible to assign the right translators, including new translators, to the right jobs.
When hiring new project managers and reviewers, a basic lecture is given according to our in-house lecture curriculum before they begin handling job management and review work. Before staring translation work, new translators are give the “@global Translation & Review Guide” to ensure that they understand the translation quality expected by our company.

OJT (On the Job Training)
New translators are not immediately assigned large-volume translation jobs. Their actual ability is evaluated by assigning them smaller tasks. Reviewers evaluate new translators according to five aspects and give repeated feedback if necessary. Finally, only translators who have demonstrated consistent ability as shown in their trial are able to join actual translation teams.
Dedicated OJT lecturers are assigned to conduct months of training for reviewers and project managers. The training period ends only when the Chief Manager and OJT lecturer determines that the person is capable of handling jobs on their own.
Holding of Various Meetings and Providing Technical Training
We at @global hold technical lectures related to the various tools that we use such as for SDL Trados, and we regularly hold meetings such as quality meetings for improving the skill of translation teams and for sharing information based on “Innovation Reports” that contain detailed improvement points related to each job.
QA (Quality Assurance)
We have two dedicated workers who are in charge of Quality Assurance. Quality audits are performed each month using our own QA Sheets. Evaluations are given back to translation teams when necessary, and the evaluation results are reflected to future job management.
Thorough Utilization of “Query Sheets” and “Check Lists”
A “Query Sheet” and “Check List” are created and submitted for all jobs so that reviewers and project manager are able to carry out proper job management.
